Somabay is expanding its golf offerings with the introduction of the Reef Course, a brand-new 18-hole golf course designed by renowned architect Tim Lobb of Lobb & Partners. The course is set to enhance Somabay’s reputation as a world-class golf destination, catering to all levels of golfers—from beginners and families to experienced professionals.

Course Concept & Design Philosophy

  • Designed for all golfers – A family-friendly course with minimal rough & bunkers, utilizing the natural contours of the land to create a fun yet challenging experience.
  • Sustainable Turfgrass – The course will be grassed with Pure Dynasty (Paspalum sp.), ensuring durability, sustainability, and playability in Somabay’s climate.
  • Strategic Landscaping – Instead of rough, ornamental grasslands will be integrated along fairways and course boundaries.
  • Unparalleled Views:
    • Holes 12-17 offer breathtaking, unobstructed views of the Red Sea. Holes 1-11 showcase scenic bayside and desert mountain landscapes.

With construction well underway we intent to have:

  • 9 holes grassed and playing Q4 2025.
  • 18 holes grassed and playing end of 2026, beginning of 2027.
Expanding Somabay Golf Portfolio

Upon completion, Somabay Golf will feature:

    • Two 18-hole Championship Courses.
    • One Par 3 Course.
    • A Unique 27-Bay Scoring Arena for short-game practice.
    • A State-of-the-Art Driving Range.

These facilities will set Somabay apart as one of the most comprehensive golf destinations in the region.
